I have a DID that we forward to the call center for the most part permanently. i dont want when anyone calls it to ring on our phones, it should go straight to the call center operators. outgoing works fine and shows the caller id of that DID properly.

i have incoming for that DID to forward to an external number and the number to the call center put in. for both office and after hours. however it still wants to ring on the main extension.

so if I go to that main extension and in the forwarding rules change it to 1 second for ring time and put forward to external number and the call center it then will work. but the main extension rings one time then sends it to the call center.

I dont want that main extension to ring at all. how do i make it so the DID is permanently forwarded to the call center number?

thx much

My guess is that the DID specified on the inbound rule does not match what is presented to the PBX. For example, 18016424655 is not the same as 8016424655. For this reason, 3CX supports the use of wildcards. For example: *8016424655. This example will work for either example above. All that is needed is the number of digits to make the rule unique. For example, you might be able to simply use *4655.

thx for the reply, though im still lost a bit. here's what I hope is a sanitized ss of my inbound rules. i would adjust that in here?

Yes, this is where you would put the wildcard *6610

Which provider are you using?

Send the DID to a dummy extension and then have that extension forward to the outside number

this was the easiest quick fix that i could figure out.

the call center is getting the caller id from the dummy extension thats our main number and not the actual caller's caller id.

any way to pass the caller's caller id through to the call center with this setup?

thx much!

It would be in the outbound parameters of your sip trunck
try a little research on your own maybe google 3cx caller id pass through
Sorry but if people give you all the answers how will you ever learn it
