Hi all

I am trying to wean off the Windows app as I can see the writing is on the wall with regards the web app. I have everyone here using it, but we are having some issues with popups and alerts. We are missing messages because of it. I am hoping there are some settings in Chrome/the web app, that will fix this.

I have created a shortcut and made it a Windows, so 3CX behaves like a program. Popups are allowed. In settings of the app, I have chat alerts and sounds set.

Issues I encounter:-

1. When the web app does not have focus, provided I am not already in a chat with a remote party, when that party sends me an IM, I get a bing and a notification pops up. When I click on it, instead of opening my webapp, it starts a new page in my main Chrome web browser.

2. If I am already in a chat session and I go to another app (so my web app is hidden) and I receive a chat from that person, there is no notification sound, or popup, or anything to alert me to the chat message.

If I can overcome these two things, we are good to go. I have the v16 alpha running on a test system and I can see the future for the web app is bigger and brighter, so I hope we can get the functionality right now on 15.5.

Hi - can you please confirm this happens on v16 when using it in the normal way , not using the app that you created?

Well sort of. I guess the best way to explain what I see is by scenario.

Scenario 1. I have webclient up as a normal tab in my browser. Sitting on "people".
Someone IMs me. I get a bing and a toaster. I click on the toaster and it brings up a new tab with the chat. I reply and go back to what I was doing.
The same person IMs me again. I get a bing and a notification again. I notice the notification on my original people tab. I click on the toaster and go to my existing chat.
Another person IMs me. I click on toaster and get another tab (third one). Same as before and so on.

Scenario 2. I have one tab open and I IM someone. I then go back to what I was doing. They IM back to me. Nothing.

Then someone else IMs me. I get a notification and I click on the toaster. It opens up another tab. Now I can go to something else and if either one IMs me, I will get a notification on the other tab, but clicking on the toaster will take me to the correct tab. When the toaster times out, there is no lasting indication anywhere that there is a new message. A control tray alert would be good for this, but there is now a way to get the notifications to come up in the Microsoft Native notification system. EDIT: The notification disappears after a few seconds. :(

I suspect this is a "feature" of Chrome where it does not alert when you already have the working tab open, but it doesn't take account of you moving to some other tab, or another program. I am not sure if this is something the programmers can get around.
