I have been using these units off and on and up til now have not had any issues. I use them for failover mainly.
However I have a client where the internet is pretty much unusable for VoIP so we decided to go with a GoIP and use 2 of the gsm radios.

I am getting a consistent issue about 4-8 min in on a call. It just Blanks out.

I have tried various versions of 3cx as I know some of my clients that have not upgraded due to lack of maintenance at this time are not having issues that they are reporting. However all versions of 15.5 I test have this issue. So not pointing at 3cx, pointing at the device. I swapped the device with another brand new one, but same issue. Took their old box to my office to test with.

I set it up in the following manor. Same Firmware GST1610-1.01-62-4
GOIP is setup in Config by Line mode.
Line one has the Auth ID and password that matches the Gateway Config of 3cx
one has a routing prefix of 8 and 2 has a prefix of 7, my outbound rules add those depending on route and they work.
Advanced IP:
Fixed port mode
5060

Media is set RTP Port Range to 16384-16583 played with different ranges, not seeing a difference.
packet length is 20
jitter is fixed
delay is 60

Everything just works. Except for that Blank out issue, 4-8ish min in.
See the Image attached to see what I'm talking about.

I am not sure how to show this issue. So if anyone can suggest a filter in wireshark, I'll pull that to show.

Thank you for anyone's assistance.

You need to use supported, tested gateways, rather then these unknown brands....

I agree. I have only see 1 supported device on your site and cannot find a supplier online that isn't in Euro. You have any suggestions to a device that is supported and available in the USA?

Otherwise anyone else who is using these janky unsupported devices successfully, what have you done to make them work.

Thanks!

Hi Brad - We have Patton devices - designed, built and supported from Gaithersburg, Maryland. It doesnt get much more american then that :) We will also support the full range of Grand stream devices in update 6 coming in a few weeks...

Have you determined whether the "blank out" (is it silence, one way/twoway, or the call actually drops?), is caused by the gateway, the network, or 3CX.

Have you tried connecting a simple ATA to the gateway, in place of 3CX to see if the issue still occurs?

You say you haven't had issues in the past, was this with 3CX, or using other devices with the gateway?

I am guessing this is the beroNet GSM device ?

If you used this link check under USA, I see 2 distributors USA VoIP and Vital communications:

Nick, would you be able to give any insight into which models of Grandstream gateways will be supported in the next Service Pack release ?

This is excellent news - I am hoping you are going to say the channel bank gxw42xx channel bank series: http://www.grandstream.com/products/gateways-and-atas/analog-voip-gateways/product/gxw4200-series

These are really popular in hospitality projects and I know of resellers who will buy these and set them up manually over the Patton SN43xx channel bank range (which has an easily adaptable template for 3CX) as they are almost a third of the price in comparison - and when you have to buy a whole bunch of these for a hotel project the cost can really stack up!

@eddv123 Yes those are the ones that will be supported!! And update 6 is not far off.

That's fantastic news Nick, thanks for letting me know.

Very impressed with the Grandstream channel banks for the price they go for. And in most cases they have built in FXS ports and don't require an additional RJ21 Telco cable.

Roll on SP6!
