Good afternoon,

I have an issue with my Grandstream GXW410X gateway.

Everytime windows reboots, for example after a windows update, the 3CX comes up, but my incoming analog telephone line that goes via this gateway shows offline in 3CX. If I reboot the Grandstream it then connects and goes online ok, until windows does an upgrade and it reboots again. This only happens when the machine restarts, otherwise the Grandstream stays fairly stable.

Does anyone know a way to stop this happening and make the Grandstream connect to the 3CX after a windows update?

Many thanks

Neil

First off, do make sure that you have followed our guide for provisioning the Grandstream Gateway: https://www.3cx.com/voip-gateways/grandstream-fxo/

Make absolutely sure you are running the firmware recommended in the guide as well.

If the issue persists after doing so you will have to look into this a bit more. Since it is the Gateway that registers to 3CX and not the other way around, I'd recommend performing a packet capture on the 3CX PBX right after the issue occurs(before rebooting the gateway) and let it run for at least five minutes. You should then analyze the packet capture and check for SIP REGISTER messages from the grandstream's IP in order to determine if they are actually being sent from the grandstream gateway or not. Depending on what you see, you should be able to at least narrow down the issue.

Thank you, I will give that a go
