HA setup

Good day,

I am setting up HA for the first time over this coming weekend.
So my active site on Windows server 2016 and v18 update 8. I am taking this up to the latest update before I start the HA setup. I have ENT license.
My standby server also Windows server 2016 with the same spec as the main server.
I have public IP on both and firewall rules set in place, using 3CX FQDN from external and split DNS configured inside.

So, my question here:
Do I load a clean 3cx v18 on my standby side, and then just go through the settings in the backup where failover is activated?
Or do I load my standby server with a backup of the existing server?

Any assistance or steps here will be appreciated.

Hi @JohanFer when you set the server B ass passive the same will stop some services to not interrupt the operations on server A (active). If you go the dashboard and click on services you will the see stopped services.

Also in the passive server it is important that you enable the parameter “Do not start services after restore” when using the scheduled restoring.

Thanks for your reply. I have done all of that. I see the services stop, I manually stopped the monitored services on the main to see if the standby takes over but it does not.

What services are you monitoring?

What is the Time interval between tests in seconds?

What did you select for failover?
Failover when all selected tests fail or when at least one of the selected tests fail?

Both pbx are in the cloud or on the same LAN?

I have all 3 boxes ticked. and use the default 30 seconds. All 3 should fail. I have the servers in the same LAN.
I will test today, just one service to monitor, I will chooses SIP service.
