Wonder if anyone can help me out of a major issue.

It would seem that we have enabled IP lockdown on the administration control panel on our 3CX v16 server. Our ISP has updated our router today and updated us from single to Multi IP addresses. Basically our IP address has changed. We had updated all our server firewalls ahead of the change but it seems we forgot that this protection was in place.

We're assuming this protection is in place, but to be honest we don't remember doing it - but must have.

Every time we try and log in to the control panel we get the message: Login Access Denied. Too many incorrect login attempts. This is definitely not the case, the password is correct (100%) and we have tried from multiple IP addresses.

We have SSH access to the server with root privileges no problem, and all the webclients work. Just no admin.

Does anyone know how we can get either from the terminal or how to access the DB directly in order to update the IP address.

Just to add this is a Linux Debian Install - running in Lightsail Amazon AWS.

Thanks in advance

SOLVED!!

I have managed to resolve the problem and would like to just feed back the steps taken in case anyone comes across this article and it may help you.

So as I explained above, we were locked out due to our public IP address changing. The new IP address was not allowed to connect in the Security -> Security Settings -> Console Restrictions.

After trying to find this in the DB to no avail I tried a different approach. Didn't expect it to work, but it did.

We had access to SSH and the DB So.....
  • We created a SSH Connection (used Putty on a windows Machine).
  • As this was a Lightsail Instance, Imported our Private Key for Login
  • Created a Tunnel within Putty and mapped ports 80, 443, 5000 & 5001 to 127.0.0.1 (Localhost) Think the only important one is 443.
  • Once the Tunnel came up - opened the browser and pointed it to 127.0.0.1
  • And Eurika was prompted with the Console Login
  • Amazing :D:D:D Username and Password Worked.
Headed straight over to Security -> Security Settings -> Console Restrictions and added the new IP and now we can login as normal.

Hope this helps someone else..... Pay it forward
