We have several 3CX systems installed and I am trying to figure out something on Holiday scheduling.

All sites have the DEFAULT department. All sites have individual departments setup. My question is do we have to do a holiday schedule for each individual department? If a department does not have a holdiay schedule, does that department inherit the schedule of the DEFAULT department?

If the answer to the above is No, is there a way to duplicate the holiday schedules from one department to another? In our cases, all of the departments use the same holiday schedule and it is very cumbersome to have to manually recreate the same 10 to 15 dates in each of 5 departments.

Thanks for any information

They each need their own. I believe VOIP Tools has a free holiday export/import but IIRC it needs some software installed on the server.

Also the holiday script is necessary if you want to play a holiday prompt.

another way is to use a cfd script before your first destination with a time condition, one branch has the holiday dates set, with the audio prompt and disconnect call, the other always transfer the call to your destination (ivr, queue...)

You could always use the Override Office Hours from your 3CX Client and manually put all depts in to holiday mode with a few clicks.

Holiday Importer is free, and you can import the same holidays for every department very easily. The process is as follows:
  1. Select the desired country
  2. Select the year
  3. Select the department (or "Select All")
  4. Choose the national and religious holidays you want to apply
  5. Upload the desired prompts
  6. Press "Save"

As of our most recent test, the prompts play as expected, so unless something pretty dramatically has changed in the latest service pack, you do not need to do anything special to get the holiday prompt to play.

@nikolascx Any chance an option is coming to allow a Global Holiday schedule that departments can use, with an option for each department to use a custom holiday schedule?
