Hot Desking Multiple Locations

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows a way (or even if it can be done) for a user to log into their extension in multiple locations e.g area code 01204 & 01250 and when they ring out for it to show the different location.

I hope this makes sense!

I'm not sure I understand your question. Perhaps you are wanting to control your outbound caller ID based on where you are (using a remote phone)? You can change your outbound caller ID in the 3CX management console by editing your extension, or you could use outbound rules to route calls over different trunks configured with different outbound caller IDs, or you can take a look at our 3CX Caller ID add-on. There are tons of forum discussions about how to change your outbound caller ID.

If you are talking about hotdesking, I don't think there is an option for hotdesking an extension across bridged 3CX servers.

Thank you for your reply, Yes i was talking about hotdesking, sorry i should have been more clear. I didn't think there would have been an option nor do i know of any other systems having this function but thought it was worth an ask! Thank you again!

I went back and looked at your title and thought "crud, that was obvious you were talking about hotdesking". If you already have separate 3CX servers at each location, I don't think hotdesking is really going to work the way you had hoped. But if you can set up one PBX to service multiple locations (possible with remote phones) then Hotdesking will work fine. However, I think the second part of the question was about controlling your outbound caller ID based on the location where you are signed in. That's definitely not an option today. But our Caller ID tool does make it very simple to change your caller ID based on your location.

Yes the client would like to control the outbound caller ID on location so if that's not an option i will let him know. Thank you very much for your time!
