How to Configure Yealink T33G without SBC or Router Phone

Dear Team,


I wanted to configure a Yealink T33G IP Phone in the 3CX V20 which is hosted on the Cloud(AWS). How can I configure it if we don't have a router phone?

Is there a way to configure it without having a router phone in the Network?

Any help would be very appreciated.

You'll want to configure the phone using STUN, this is unsupported by 3cx and not recommended. Ill paste the link below to the 3cx page

Hi @JoshWS, Thanks for your response. much appreciated.

Actually, I already have two T23G Yealink phones configured in 3CX. Now, we need a new IP for a new user. According to the 3CX article, the T23G has limitations, and they don't recommend buying new T23G phones. That's why we are going with the T33G phone, but its configuration is not as simple as that of the T23G.

So, I am looking for a solution here. What can we do to configure the T33G IP phone? Or do we need to change the Yealink phone model ?

If you are deploying more than one handset at a location i strongly recommend using a SBC like a raspberry Pi or if you have a linux or window machine use that.

Then you will have no issues with the T33G.

However, if you are going to be purchasing these you are probably better off buying a yealink model which can be a router phone T4_U series or T5_ series

Okay, so the router phone T4_U or T_5 can be used as a standalone phone? I mean, don't we need SBC for it? Can we use this phone as an SBC and then as a normal phone as well?

Yes the router phones can be used as a standable device without the need of an SBC. This phone can support up to 10 devices behind it as a router phone. so for example you could have 1xT54W and 9xT33G or something similar.

The router phone is still able to be used like any other phone

I would highly recommend just getting a router phone - T-54W's are pretty reasonable and have worked well for me. Josh - is the 10 device a hard limit or soft? If there are going to be 13 phones 6-8 heavily utilized, but 2-3 almost never used -- is that reasonable?
