Is it possible to import your existing phone number? Or do you have to receive a new one once you sign up?

That is between you, and the provider that you choose to use, for outside calls.

You can port the number in most cases. Your SIP provider should help with getting your number ported. They will normally need the face copy of the bill from the current provider and a Letter of Agency (LOA) signed by the person on the account as the contact of the old provider. Several providers are very hard to deal with. If you have a dot out of place or something similar they will delay as long as possible.

As mentioned this has nothing to do with the PBX. You will need to contact your provider to see if that is possible or not. What i would recommend though is that the target provider is on the supported list to avoid any future issues.
