I know you can make Contacts show the contact name if the number matches X digits or Exact, but can you make incoming calls cross reference Users you have setup based on their outbound or mobile number? For instance, if User ABC decides to direct dial me instead of using my extension, it would show User ABC name calling me instead of the cnam registered name and phone number. Or if the user out of the office and calls me directly from their cell phone because they don't use the app, it would show User ABC name instead of just Wireless Caller 123456789.

So yeah they are explaining the exact same scenario I am, except I'm even adding in using their outbound number as a cross reference for showing who is calling. There are people who dial a persons full number instead of just their extension number, even with it near the full number they are looking at as they dial it. It would be nice if you could toggle a setting to let inbound calls reference users outbound and mobile numbers to show as who is calling just like you can with Contacts.

Thanks for finding that and linking it. My searches did not come up with that. I would submit a feature request but it says I don't have sufficient rights.

The issue may be, that because the mobile numbers are not all stored in one table, but are stored against extensions, lookup, and attaching a name, may be an issue depending where they are calling. It gets a bit complicated, and not the same outcome would necessarily be desired by all 3CX users.

Adding a (mobile) number, and name, in the company phonebook allows name lookup and replacement.

I assume that when calling you, it means something like your home number. Unfortunately, 3CX only allows for one outside caller ID number set against the extension, be that a DID number, or something else (provider permitting). In many cases you will have limited control over the name delivered with it, usually it must be pulled from a datatbase if a match is found. A few providers will honour a name that you send.

As @leejor mentioned, this is not possible unless you create a separate contact for each user. You would have to add both the users mobile number to the user and their own outbound caller id. This should work, provided of course that the mobile and the outbound caller id are the numbers actually being presented to the PBX when the call comes in. As @leejor also mentioned this is not always the case depending on the situation and the SIP Provider.

I understand that. I just don't see why this isn't a feature for it to be able to match outbound and mobile from users with incoming calls like contacts can. And I don't have the ability to request this feature due to inadequate account permissions because this is a personal account to post here since we have a vendor that manages our primary 3cx pro license.

Yes, posting feature requests does indeed require a certain partner level. If they have the appropriate permissions, you could always ask them to post it on your behalf.
