Hi Guys

We are using Bandwidth as the SIP Trunk, and I have created a Ring group for 2 extensions to get the main DID calls to ring both. But when we receive calls to the DID, the caller id is showing as the main DID itself?

How do I go about fixing this so it shows the actual outside CID ?

Thanks!

Do you have the 3CX option set, to display the DID name (number) as the caller ID, or have you confirmed that the DID number is not being sent in the correct field?

Hello @netvoip

Did you create an inbound rule for the main trunk number? If so then you are seeing the name of the inbound rule in front of the caller ID. If that is the case i would recommend deleting the inbound rule and configuring the destination from the trunk settings directly. That will get rid of the inbound rule name. You can also navigate to Contacts / Options and select the "Do not add" option under the "Add Group, Queue or DID/DDI Names to Caller ID".

If you do not have an inbound rule then make sure you are using the default Bandwidth template as it includes the correct settings for reading the caller ID.

Hi Yiannish_3CX

Thanks for the reply. Sorry i was not well so could not reply sooner.

Yes I do have inbound rule, for that 888 DID.Are you suggesting deleting the DID inbound rule and set the destination of the RING group in the SIP trunk itself? But the issue is we have bandwidth as our main DID.

I already did this" You can also navigate to Contacts / Options and select the "Do not add" option under the "Add Group, Queue or DID/DDI Names to Caller ID"."

Are you suggesting creating 2 SIP trunks for DID, and route one SIP trunk directly to that Ring group? Does it work if we configure 2 SIP trunk with same provider with different DID? Because we have multiple DID's with Bandwidth, and the SIP trunk is only 1. And we usually configured the inbound rules 1:1 for each DID to extension.

Thanks!

Hi netvoip,

Hope you are feeling better now.

What I meant was since your main trunk number routes to the Ring group then you do not need an Inbound rule and you can set the destination right from the SIP Trunk settings.
You can have all your DIDs under the same trunk, you will just need to create inbound rules for the other DIDs. There is no need to add additional trunks.

I already did this" You can also navigate to Contacts / Options and select the "Do not add" option under the "Add Group, Queue or DID/DDI Names to Caller ID"."
Since this did not resolve the issue then i do not think its an issue with Inbound rules. Can you send us a screenshot of your Inbound parameters of your SIP Trunk?
Just open your SIP Trunk settings and navigate to the "Inbound parameters" tab and take a screenshot of your settings there.
