Installation walkthrough

Dear all,

I have an installation of elastix 2.4 wich serves 40 local users in the company that I work. Some years ago I installed an server-client application called Act faχ (http://www.actfax.com/) which gave us some nice functionality. The main functionality was to have personalized fax management for each user, meaning that the secretary who receives all faxes (aka the "administrator") assignes ownership of the faxes in order to be destributed to the proper user.

I was wondering if I could replicate this functionality with elastix and hylafax in order to abbandon actfax. Although there are a lot of clients out there for hylafax, I couldn't find a solid walkthrough plan to install them properly with elastix.

Any help, will be appreciated

In regards to installing Hylafax - look at Elastix without tears. The concepts are still the same....

Just ignore the section called "Directing Fax to Fax extension on Non-dedicated Fax line (Auto Detect)" and read the rest for examples of setting up clients.

Hylafax by itself (without further addons) will receive faxes and send them to a single email address (or group email address) which someone can then distribute.

If you want to sent faxes, then there are some Free clients, and there are some decent paid clients as well. Anything that works with Hylafax should interface.
