I have run into an issue where a customer is on a call and intercom will override the call. When this happens the caller is automatically put on hold and the intercom call is answered. This is a new V20 install with Fanvil V65 router phones on current firmware and default templates. We have been using Grandstream GRP phones before and while on a call the intercom will come up as call waiting and not place the caller on hold. I wondering if others have seen this behavior in Fanvil phones before or is this new to V20.

This just started happening for us also since the upgrade to V20 - 3CX can we please disable the paging barge for active calls. This reversion in the template is very annoying.

We have run into the exact same issue with V20 and Fanvil X5U V2 Router phones. What was your solution?

I have not found a solution yet. My ticket with Fanvil has been open for 2 months now.

My users have brought up this issue to me. My understanding from previous threads on this topic is that paging groups are considered as 'emergency-only' by 3CX and override all current calls (placing that call on hold) unless a custom template is used.
  • But this was not the behaviour when I originally set up the phones, this has only begun happening after rolling out V20.
  • And when I access the phone's configuration screen the option for 'Intercom Barging' is disabled.
Am I misunderstanding something? How can I patch this, or set up the phone system to use less urgent pages? Our staff have gotten used to using Page All to alert departments to calls that're on hold for them, because staff can be all over the shop away from their dedicated phones.

I've resolved this issue by creating a custom template. Open the 'fanvil.ph.xml' template provided in 3CX's 'Advanced > Templates' menu. Copy it, and change <MCAST_CFG_MODULE><Priority> from '9' to '0'.

Thank you this fixed the issue. This is exactly what the customer wanted.
