Intercom overriding DND

Any reason why the intercom is/can override DND? This is the same behavior whether we activate DND on our Yealink T54W phones or the 3CX softphone/Chome extension.

If we activate DND with *60/*61, the intercom is blocked, as expected.

Any thoughts?
