Hello everyone,

We've been using 3CX for a while now just for our staff members and are considering deploying it to devices used by teams outside of our office.

The best way for us is to use an MDM server to deploy both the application and the configuration.
Some applications allow us to use XML configuration or customs variables/files to deploy remotely and help us configure the application (such as OpenVPN configuration for example).

This will help users get 3CX on their smartphones quickly and avoid having to go to the IT department for configuration. Most importantly, we don't want to provide the QRCode and tell users how they can configure the app with it to prevent any unauthorized installation.

Does the 3CX application have this feature?
How can we do this?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Best regards

That would be very nice. Seriously.

But at the same time, it takes 2sec to scan a QR code, so I doubt they would add that.

Hello @ConceptsWeb for sure QRCode is a great feature when users are able to self-enroll.
That’s not our case unfortunately.

Hi @Vali_3CX i don’t have access to this link even when i’m logged in :/

@nicolas.dyserinck Sorry, I didn't observed it's the partner section there. Here's a copy/paste transcript:

Is there a way (maybe a creative way?) to remotely provision a mobile device without a QR code? Here's where I'm going with this...

I want to deploy the 3CX app to my mobile devices automatically through my MDM, specifically a large group of iPads.
The iPads get passed around sometimes, so they are not tied to a single user, but when a user grabs one they have to log into our app. Each user has unique login to our app.
I'd like to be able to provision the 3cx app to an extension based on whoever logs into our app.

If the QR code contains data (server address, ext, etc...) can I send that data to the app directly, without QR Code.

>>> OR <<< Big brain time.

Can an iPad be setup like a hotdesking desk phone. If this were the case, our app could provide a phone number/dial code that then calls the *77*ext* to log that particular ext into 3cx app, and when they log out of our app - send a *77*5* to 3cx to log them out.

Any help or ideas welcome.

Not the answer you are looking for: Of course the user could register through the email provisioning file instead of QR. Once it is registered, a very fun and creative way of tracking who has that Ipad is you can create a Queue for each driver (Not very light on server resource). When the drive picks up the Ipad have them log into there respective Queue (This part could definitely be automated based on log in with your fleet tracking app with some dev work).

I do not know if that accomplishes the same outcome if you are just doing it based on employee tracking/equipment tracking.

======================
I'm going to play with this.
Thank you for the idea on the queues. For most clients with a handful of drivers I think this would be fine, for those with a hundred drivers, yuck. But I think I smell what your stepping in, and will play a bit. Thank you.

@Vali_3CX Thanks for the paste.
Unfortunately, the idea to use "Queues" wont work for us. Too complicated for our users.

We plan to deploy 3CX on a large number of smartphones and they will be used by various person. As we cannot provide necessary for self-configuration, I guess we will have to go through over every devices to do it.
Maybe we can block auto-configuration to one time only ?? I haven't seen any options for this.

If this feature can be added in future release, i think it will add more flexibility for IT admins and also prevent any unauthorized use of the 3CX extension.

Thanks by the way for your time.

Best regards,
Nicolas D
