After to have set the Active/Passive of 3CX v18 Debian (virtual machines) (previous post) I've noted that the passive sometime becames the active and the active remains active without any make any activities????
The passive becoming active, and the active staying up is completely normal. When the passive comes online, you'll need to drop the active yourself. The passive checks the services of the active, while the active doesn't need to check anything because when the passive comes online, the active should be down.
So in this case there are only two reasons I can think of that this is happening:
Some of your active server's services dropped. Triggering the passive to come online.
There is a communication issue between the active and passive.
Either way, the investigation point should be why the passive came online rather than anything to do with the active for now.
