Hi,

I currently have a working 3cx system and local phones work excellent.
Im having to setup a remote office which is going to run 4 phones, i have tried loads of things to get them working but so far i have had no joy so this afternoon i tried using the Sip Proxy manager.
Straight away i setup one of our Cisco phones and i could make a call from the phone in the remote office fine and audio worked both ways, i then tried to make a call from the main network to the remote phone network and all it kept saying was CANCELLED and then it hung up.

Has anyone seen this and have any idea's.

Thanks

A few questions...
What type of router is the proxy manager behind?
Are you using the tunnel?
Does a single set, from the same location (no proxy manager), work?
What does the 3CX log show, for a failed call? Does it indicate why it failed?
Is STUN working properly on the Proxy Server?

Thanks for your reply,
What type of router is the proxy manager behind? We use Cisco 1801 routers
Are you using the tunnel? Yes this was the only way we managed to get the service to work in anyway using the tunnel proxy manager
Does a single set, from the same location (no proxy manager), work? So far i have never managed to get this working, it connects but always showed NO RTP PACKETS RECEIVED in the logs
What does the 3CX log show, for a failed call? Does it indicate why it failed? Im not too sure on the time we tried this therefore i cant really display the logs but i saw a few logs showing "400 Bad Request"
Is STUN working properly on the Proxy Server? I wasnt aware that STUN was needed using the Proxy Server manager

Hope that helps.

Cheers
Paul

I would suspect that a port(s) is/are not open (forwared) on the router at the 3CX PBX end. Either that or a firewall issue at the same end.
Tunnel uses port 5090, so it must be forwarded, in your router, to the private IP of the PC/server running the PBX.

I have just checked this and its showing open in the router and firewall. I have also just done a test at http://www.ping.eu/port-chk/ and this is showing open using the external ip and port.

Thanks

Post from our logs,
10.120.xx.xx been our 3cx main installation and 192.168.x.xx been the remote phone at the remote location.

Have you compared all of your settings with this?
http://www.3cx.com/blog/releases/sip-proxy-manager/
Has the "Listener Port", 5080, been taken into account at the remote end?

Thats the page i followed to set up the system, The Port at the remote end was left as default on the proxy manager and then setup on the cisco phone.
Outgoing calls from the remote end work fine to extensions and external numbers, its just the other way round so calls from the main office including incomming calls to the remote phone.

Paul

Did you forward port 5080, in the remote router, so that it can reach the Proxy server PC?

I tried to forward ports 5080 and 5090 at the remote end to direct WAN traffic to the SIP PC but this didnt work either but looking at the instructions this shouldnt need to be done.
It says just to forward port 5090 at the PBX end.

Paul

You're correct, there is no mention of router configuration at the remote end. If it is listening on port 5080, it would only make sense to forward that port, in the remote router, to the proxy manager. The problem you are experiencing suggests that no packets are getting through to the remote end.

Surely that calls from remote outbound wouldnt work either if that was the case but that way it works perfect.

This may be a phone issue.

the phone being used is a Cisco 7940, the proxy manager was reporting the phone was not connected in the logs.

you using one of thoses Cisco Routers Paul?

Yes, although when i was testing yesterday it was connected through a BT Home Hub.
The phone works brill on the local network both ways and works outbound from the remote, seems strange i have got this far with it and that it could be a phone issue.

Regards
Paul
