Hi,

I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction:

I would like to create an IVR that asks a caller to enter a multi digit number which is then passed to the extension (always the same extension) via the INVITE.

Can I do that with 3CX?

Thanks!

Not "off the shelf", as any digit input would normally be interpreted as dialling an extension directly, or making a selection in the IVR. There may be an add-on available from a third party once an initial IVR selection was made and the call routed to something able to accept the input digits.

Hi @MucCX ,

As leejor said, what you are describing is not possible in the exact way you are describing it, but could you explain what your end goal is? Maybe there is some alternative we could suggest.

Using a Call Flow Designer (CFD), it is possible to capture the number entered by the caller and include this information in "Attached Data". Then, when a call is transferred to another extension, this "AttachedData" can be evaluated. I do not know whether that information is contained in the SIP invite.

Sure:
I need to pass information to an extension via INVITE.
And I need to collect that information from the caller first. (It does not have to be via an IVR, that was just a thought.)
Think of dialling into a telephone conference („Please enter the conference ID followed by the pound sign“). That‘s the goal.

I will definitely investigate this.

Does anybody happen to know whether it is possible to manipulate INVITE with custom information?

If the requirements is to be able to input information that is input from the User, or collected from another source, into the INVITE, I can't think of a way this can be done.

Even with the "AttachedData" of the CFD that VoIPTools mentioned, that won't happen.
