Let 3CX PBX calls to own extensions stay on the PBX and not to SIP trunk and back

I've configured my 3CX server with extentions of 3 digits, when a user calls another user with the 3 digits the PBX sets up one active call for this session.

But when a user calls to another user on our PBX with the full country code (+31) and area code for example +31123456XXX where the X's stands for the 3 digits of the internal extention, the following outbound rule kicks in;



And the call goes to the Asterisk SIP trunk, after connecting to the trunk the call goes back to our 3CX PBX because is a extention / number that is of its own, as a result of this 2 active calls are set up, see following picture;



How can i configure in the 3CX PBX that if a number is dailed with country and area code and is one of his own numbers the call must not go to the connected SIP trunk but stays on the PBX it self.

Add another rule higher up in the list that "blocks" calls matching the pattern. For example +31123456

Hi Voiptoys,

I can't "block" that pattern because our users can and will use beside the 3 digits extensions also the full number with country and area code.

So is there a rule to match the pattern and change it to the 3 digits so that the 3CX PBX knows that it is his own extention.

You could try making the SIP Id of the extensions, the full DID number. Not sure if that will work with a leading + however. Any rule above the "general" rule will block calls to that one specific number. If you created a rule for every DID, in each format being dialled, then all those calls would be blocked. As is outbound rules are just that, it does not convert into an extension number. You could create a "loop trunk" to route the call out, then back in, but that uses two SC licences per call.

What do you mean by 'making the SIP Id of the extensions' is it the following option within the extensions General tab?

This DID number is now without the '+' for the country code (+31).

Just block all outbound calls to all of your DID's.
Unfortunately the outbound rewrite doesn't have enough strip digits available usually.

The extension should have a SIP ID option. Put in the full number (along with any prefix required) , which will then route calls to that extension before even looking at the outbound rules. If you gave ext 201 a SIP Id of 8005551200, then an extension dialling that number would reach that extension.
