License issue / moving from 2 to 3 digit system

This is Pro version on Prem.
The system grew rapidly so there's a lack of numbers.
I need to prepare the new 3 digit system. All is clear about configuration.

The question is how to handle license and fqdn as there cannot exist 2 pbx's with the same license/fqdn at the same time?

Official Support sent me to csr, chat support sent me here...

Any ideas/steps to make this transition smoothly?

Since you cannot have 2 PBX with the same license and FQDN if you want to increase the digit length of this specific machine, you need to re-deploy the machine, and during the installation, you will get the option to change the digit length.

While there is a ton of work to transfer all the settings to new system, I need both system to be active at the same time.
After migration/configuration I will shut down the old one (2 digits). How do I accomplish this? I can assign a new fqdn, but what about the license? Even at the start of the installation it wants the key. I cannot use restore procedure as there is 2 digits burnt in...

It is not possible to use the same license to do so. If you need both machines running at the same time you need to purchase a new license to spin the new machine.

Why the expense??
I just need both of the machines for couple of hours/days so I can reconfigure and test everything. Then the old one shuts down and the license is free...

This is because you can only have one free license on your account. If you want to spin a new machine on the same account you need to buy a new license.

Hi Ales, the quick and easy way would be to just buy a 4 SIM PRO Call License, it is cheap, and you are not held up in your transition.

The best option is what @jed recommended.
