Hi,

We used failover server and started latest 3cx version there while primary went down. License 16x PRO.
After primary came back and processes auto-started - it was unable to make any calls to a Queue until we realized we need to shut off services on backup server.
Previously never had such issues, can you please describe the logic and cautions? Because no email notification or something else was sent with the indication of the problem, customers were unable to call into the queue from IVR.

Hello @AndreyP

Please note that failover works only from the Primary server to failover server. There is no functionality for switching back to the main server automatically. That process has to be done manually and the failover server needs to be placed back in the failover state once the primary server comes back up.

YiannisH_3CX,

Thanks for your reply. But we're making "failover" by manually stopping the services, is there any button or script which can place failover note in this mode?

Actually i've noticed the primary note starts working normally when i press "Refresh license key information", before doing this all PRO features are disabled without any indication or email which is very confusing.

Failover can only be triggered if a monitored service fails on the primary PBX. How are you triggering failover? Do you stop a service manually and wait for the passive server to start? Are you using a 3CX FQDN or a custom FQDN?

We're starting services manually, because we can't relay on auto-failover in case some network issues between two servers, however external internet and network are ok.
We're using custom fqdn.

So you are not actually using failover. You just have a second idle server that you turn on when needed? Do you completely switch off the primary server in this scenario? When the secondary server starts that licence is activated on that. When bringing the primary back online you either need to restart the services or refresh the registration so that the licence is re-activated on the primary.

Understood, thanks.

Glad i could assist
