Hello,

We currently have a 3CX system in place for both our internal and external calls. Additionally, we have an active Microsoft 365 tenant. Naturally, we'd like to integrate these two system as our users would surely benefit.

However, after a brief discussion with our 3CX provider, they said it cannot be done on existing systems as it could lead to complications and difficulties (such as duplication of numbers). They told us this should only be done on fresh 3CX systems that didn't have extensions set up already. Unfortunately, pushing them further only lead to the same reply.

Has anyone found a solution to this issue? If so, is there any documentation or perhaps best practices to follow?

Many thanks,
EPRC

Well, your provider is wrong.

Existing extensions will be matched on the email address (if it matches the one in O365), and others will either be created or ignored, depending on the configuration made. You can choose which users to sync, or sync all, or sync all except.

Also, the syncing of the Outbound Caller ID (based on Office Phone field in 365), syncing of the user photo and other features are all selectable by you.

It's actually simple to set this up on an existing system.

Sounds like your provider is incompetent.

As stated by others here, your provider is incorrect.
