Hi all, for our IVR menu, we had the person at our reception desk record it. I'm looking for something that sounds professional, either computer audio or human-recorded. I've been googling, but just curious if there is a consensus on the forum for what to use? Thanks!

For a professional sound, we use a studio that record customers requests and then they send us the file in the correct audio format !

In Windows

Start > Control Panel > Speech Recognition > Text to Speech

VOILA! :p

Thanks! I've tried that, though, and it sounds too robotic unfortunately. I'm curious what these huge companies are doing

I use http://www.fromtexttospeech.com/ . Sometimes it sounds good but you might need to spell things phonetically to get it sounding right. Does US English, British, Spanish, French, Portugese, German , Italian and Russian. Don't know the other languages sound but British Emma is good

I think big companies employ professional companies that do voice prompts or use actors like Samuel L Jackson

Tbf with you..

I record it myself and edit it with Audacity.

I can make myself sound like Samuel L Jackson or a chimp depending on my mood

hahaha i'm done guys

We get the pack with IVR, MOH and greetings message, studio made for 100/200€ max

We do our owns using Google TTS and a small command line Node.js app.

It takes a .txt and outputs a .wav. Then simply use Audacity to make your montage and save with the required formats. Works really well in English, super professional and clear!

French is another story tho. It's good but not perfect.
