After the upgrade to v18 i lost several options on the console, this is due to the Phone system administration option not being checked, however despite using the account i set the system up with, i now seem to have lost the main user admin rights, so i cannot allow anyone access to the 3cx management console, nor allow myself access to the phone system administration.

There is no user in the system that has phone system admin rights

There is a good chance that this is due to how i initially investigated 3cx, and changed my mind on extension numbering whilst learning the system.

I suspect that the only way to correct this is a full re-install, but what i would like to find out is, are there any other options, and if i do a clean install, will i be able to import settings/restore backup and retain the main user admin, there are over 80 users, with blf, contacts, did, ivr, etc, etc,
it may still be possible to restore the v16 snapshot but as this issue must exist in that, upgrading to v18 again will have the same problem

Hi @midtherm,

If you try to log in to the Management Console twice using the correct username (most likely admin, but note a 3rd incorrect attempt will block your IP for 24hrs by default), you should see a popup asking you if you'd like to reset the password - at which time the admin of the PBX system will receive an email and you should be able to log in.
