I'm trying to implement VOIPTools which uses makecall. The trunk is rejecting calls because it sees "makecall" and not the caller id number. I have the number in default caller ID, I've tried adjusting From: user part to enforced outbound caller id, linenumber, enforced outbound caller id, and the makecalls seem to be ignoring all of that.

No matter what I do, I'm getting...
2020-04-21 09:48:35.0MakeCallMakeCall----------iREJECTED (488)Dial00Outbound---

on the trunks call history. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Phil

Look at your 3CX logs. Specifically, look at your outbound caller ID for this call. I'll bet it has "MakeCall" as the caller ID rather than a phone number. Ensure you have a default caller ID on your trunk. Also, on your outbound rules make sure you don't have restrictions based on extension numbers or groups. This call is coming from MakeCall and doesn't have an extension number nor does it belong to a group.

Thanks, I do have default caller ID set. The rule I'm using is just a 10 digits rule. You are right about the caller ID. I'm not sure why "Makecall"isn't being overwritten by the default callerID.

I've tried changing the Form: User Part to OutboundlineID and a few other options, but it keeps arriving at my provider as just "Makecall" :(.

Hello pmclachlan. I believe this issue has been resolved. Our trunks reject invalid caller-id's and play back an error code. The error code description can be located on our customer/agent portal at the top of the Call Details page. Don't hesitate to contact us for additional assistance!

Thanks Cody. I do want to say that I've been very happy with my short time with wiretap. The support has been amazing. I'll contact you shortly. It appears your trunk is behaving as it should, I just need to get the field that it picks the callerid from to broadcast the callerid number instead of the name.

My wireshark looks like your trunk is getting the callerid from "Sip from address User Part:" I feel like if 3cx can populate that with my callerid number...

You're very welcome. We're here to help, so please feel free to update/create a helpdesk ticket so we can knock any remaining issues out.
