not sure why this got closed so quickly. issue 2 still persists.

we are not using the SBC as it did not work.

we did the pre requisites for moving to the hosted service, sbc was green and ready to go. once the conversion to the hosted 3cx was finished, the sbc would not connect anymore.

we ended up factory resetting all the phones and starting from scratch. not a big deal.

but phones at location 2 still cannot call an extension.

we rebooted the phone system over the weekend and have not had the audio problem from issue 1 since. (fingers crossed)

@ToddJ as I can see engineer mentioned to open a ticket in order to take a look at your machine. I can not see any ticket to our system with your email.
Also, as pe previous thread 's answer from the engineer :

Now regarding your second problem, did you change HTTPS port from 443 to 5001 and vice versa after migrating the PBX to our hosting platform ?

Because your https port of the PBX now is 443 and I can not see any issues regarding this.
Since you migrated the PBX and you use SBC, did you change the port there ?
Also yes if the port changes, the provisioning URL on the phones needs to change since the port changes.

I have not submitted a ticket for issue one as it went away.

as for issue 2

1 office can call extensions just fine. 1 office cannot.

the phone provisioning ports are the same across the board.
all of the phones at office 1 and all of the phones at office 2

the phone models are exactly the same, the firmware is the same.
office 2 can call office 1 via extension as well. but office 1 cannot do anything with extensions.

Also both offices are behind the same firewall appliance, Meraki MX64w's. (fwiw)

@ToddJ form the site where you have the issue from , can you call from 3cx Webclient, or mobiles, or 3cx phone for Windows ?
Do you have the same issue ?
Also, if you dial *777 from the site where the phones have the issue, do you have audio ?

i dont have the softphones installed anywhere, nor a headset to use them with.

i can try the *777 and will let you know what happens.

Support on our hosting can only be offered if you use our apps or for ip phones via our SBC.

For more information reference to help.3cx.com/kB

ps Meraki are know to be troublesome without extensive config for native sip.

when they dial *777 she tells me "It sounds like I dialed myself"

as i mentioned in the first post, we are NOT using SBC

@ToddJ yes *777 is echo test so when you speak you can hear your voice coming back.
With this way you test communication between the endpoint and the PBX.
By the time this works, there is no issue from the PBX side.

For your remote office now you may use 3cx Apps which are fully supported or you may bring up a VM or setup a Pi and use SBC which is mandatory in hosting with 3CX.

  • I have a remote Office:
We still recommend the 3CX APPs and/or Browser-Extensions, however, to connect multiple IP-Phones from a single office space, use the 3CX SBC. The SBC overcomes network and firewall configuration/hurdles and also reduces the bandwidth requirement for calls. One SBC is required per office space.
