I've got an install of around 100 various Yealink phones, 8 of which are Router Phones.

There are only about 20 phones that get regular call volume; the rest are rarely used.

Would it make sense to connect the rarely used phones to a single Router Phone (in like groups of 20), and keep the 10 to 1 ratio for the phones with more normal usage?

I guess the question is if it's possible to connect 20 phones to a single Router Phone (if the call volume is light, and no BLF keys are active)?

That would fall under the not supported or recommended. You could but results can potentially suffer.

Thanks for the replies!

I'll add that we did try pointing a few more than 10 phones to the same Router Phone with no issues.

The customer needed more phones anyway, so we added a few more (Router Phones) just to be safe.

V.20 seems to be doing a good job of automatically allocating new phones to the available inventory of Router Phones (and keeping them evened out).
