Hi,

I just want to confirm if this will work.
I have 16 extensions and

ext 1 is talking to ext 2
ext 3 is talking to ext 4
ext 5 is talking to ext 6
ext 7 is talking to ext 8
ext 9 is talking to ext 10
ext 11 is talking to ext 12
ext 13 is talking to ext 14, and
ext 15 is talking to ext 16, all at the same time.

Please let me know if this works.

Thanks,
Nick

Not an expert on this still but, i think it will work, since any of the extensions are busy with another call, and even if that was true u can always put 1 on hold and answer the other one(i think this depends too on the phone u're using).

Cheers

Hi Thanks for your reply.

I was referring to the free version. It says the maximum number of simultaneous calls is 8.
I wonder if it holds true for the scenario that I was referring to.

Thanks again...

oh, in that case i have no idea, but, if it is 8 calls max then it should be that :|

Cheers

EDITED: Sorry guys... I am editing my post. After consultation with the team it appears that there IS a limit even on internal calls on the free edition...Forgive my mistake. Before I had said that the limit was only on internal to external and external to internal. It appears I am wrong.

Regards

Hi,

Okay so the max is 8 external simultaneous calls (either inbound or outbound.

Got it. Thanks a lot!

Nick

Hold on

Ok,

I want to make sure I have this right.

The maximum number of calls including calls from extension to extension is 8???

In other words having the following calls happen simultaneously wouldn't work:

Call 1: Extension 1 to Extension 2
Call 2: Extension 3 to Extenson 4
Call 3: Extension 5 to Extenson 6
Call 4: Extension 7 to Extenson 8
Call 5: Extension 9 to Extenson 10
Call 6: Extension 11 to Extenson 12
Call 7: Extension 13 to Extenson 14
Call 8: Extension 15 to Extenson 16
Call 9: Extension 17 to Extenson 18

Is that correct??

Thanks again

The simultaneously call not count for extension to extension. Only count to PSTN or VoIP provider.

Call 1: Extension 1 to PSTN #1 (OK)
Call 2: Extension 2 to PSTN #2 (OK)
Call 3: Extension 3 to PSTN #3 (OK)
Call 4: Extension 4 to PSTN #4 (OK)
Call 5: Extension 5 to PSTN #5 (OK)
Call 6: Extension 6 to VoIP #1 (OK)
Call 7: Extension 7 to VoIP #2 (OK)
Call 8: Extension 8 to VoIP #3 (OK)
Call 9: Extension 9 to VoIP #4 (Busy Tone)

or

Call 1: Extension 1 to PSTN #1 (OK)
Call 2: Extension 2 to PSTN #2 (OK)
Call 3: Extension 3 to VoIP #1 (OK)
Call 4: Extension 4 to VoIP #2 (OK)
Call 5: Extension 5 to VoIP #3 (OK)
Call 6: Extension 6 to VoIP #4 (OK)
Call 7: Extension 7 to VoIP #5 (OK)
Call 8: Extension 8 to VoIP #6 (OK)
Call 9: Extension 9 to PSTN #3 (Busy Tone)

Are you sure about that Ricky? Did you test? Above Costas wrote

and I interpret that to mean max 8 simultaneous calls regardless of extension to extension or extension to PSTN / VoIP. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong though

The simultaneously call not count for extension to extension. Only count to PSTN or VoIP provider.

We're just tested at Version 3.1-BETA Build 2295, 8 extensions called to outside IVRS and tried extension called to extension also OK. Referred to Costas, I'm should be wrong. Actually, I would like to do tested again at lab. However, Costas already confirmed that. Therefore, need not to do the test. Finally, the maximum 8 simultaneously calls should be included extension to extension and extensions to PSTN or VoIP provider for free edition.

Must admit I was under the impression that internal to internal calls didn't count, but you can only have 8 external calls going on at once.

ummmm

ummmm :?

So in my example above call 9 extension to extension would not work right?

LOL

Ok, now I am confused. :?

Is there any way to get a definitive answer on this??

Thanks again

Please refer to this page for exact feature lists of each version

Good morning Nick

Good morning Nick,

I think the confusion was more about the definition of calls used in "Simultaneous Calls" then anything else.

My understanding right now is that calls when used in "Simultaneous Calls" is defined as follows:
1. extension to extension
2. extension to VoIP line.
3. extension to PSTN line.
etc.

This brings up another question:

When a call comming in on a VoIP line is transferred to another VoIP line, cell, or PSTN does it become 2 simultaneous calls?

I appoligize for the large number of questions but I need to make sure I have all the details correct when planning for implementations using 3CX.

Thanks again
