Our WebMeeting infrastructure and MCU/Media servers aren't running on single core Atom pc's with a dialup connection as you'd think
Not to go on a long rant about this, our servers run a mix of 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32 core Xeon E5's and Xeon Platinums. That's about 300 - 7000+ user capacity per server depending on the server and your meeting config. We have ~20 servers give or take, and on average, the platform total simultaneous user capacity is at around 70 000 users.
All servers run a dedicated 600Mbit up to 10Gbit line with the exception of the single Vietnam server which runs at 100Mbit. Don't worry, you won't be connecting to Vietnam any time soon unless you explicitly select to connect to it yourself since this server will only be used by people in or near Vietnam as per our meeting/server geolocation system that will always connect you to the nearest server.
Again, all the above provided from Amazon's and Google's data centers. Just because WebMeeting is free, it doesn't mean that it's running on "Public" single core dialup servers. It's just the opposite. We're doing our best to provide the best service we can(Within the bounds of logic), for free. I wouldn't worry much about the "Public" server thing honestly...
Now, having the MCU on your PBX/Standalone is something some admins do want and it's something that's come to our attention several times. It also makes sense, i agree. It's however not something we're interested in offering right now but this may change in the not so near future.
