This guide will walk you through setting up Microsoft integration to sync users, enable SSO and contact/calendar sync depending on the Microsoft subscription and 3CX Edition

Read the guide.

Admin of Office 365 yes. Maybe read the docs...

Could you please add a warning that configuring M365 integration overrides any existing mail servers set?
We use Custom SMTP Server pointing to a local mail relay and every time we configure or update M365 integration settings it changes the Email Server setting to M365 mail servers breaking our mail delivery for alerts and voicemails.

Not sure where to report this. hope this is the best place.

We have found a logic bug in the M365 sync / integration. here is the work flow:

1) Fully setup M365 sync.
2) Configure to only sync the following users
- this works as expected.
3) Employee is terminated and the account is disable in MS Entra
4) This hides the employee from the M365 sync list.
- we are unable to stop the sync of this user because the user is now hidden from the sync list
5) we have to re-enable the user in MS Entra
6) Then we remove the user from the sync list
7) then we disable the user again in MS Entra.

If we just delete the extension, then the sync is disconnected as expected. Our use case though means that we re-use some extension numbers. typically we would just disable the old user sync, change the email address on the extension, and then enable the sync for the new user. This ensures that they get the right ext and department and permissions as the previous user in that position.

I get not showing disabled users in the sync list, but I would think the logic should be that if the user is sync'd and then disabled, they should still show in sync list.

Maybe just show us all users? and only disable the ext when the MS account is disabled?

@wade8421 this is down to what m365 pushes to 3CX, so as you discovered the "proper" sequence is to remove the user from sync list and then disable them.
