Migrating from Azure Debian 10, to AWS Windows Server 2019

Hello we are planning to migrate our current 3cx instance into AWS from Azure, from Debian to a Windows Server 2019.

Do i need to look out for any possible issues that we may face. we have around 10Gb of recording also.

Moving due to some cheaper direct connections in AWS than Azure express route.

Make sure your phones are provisioning with the FQDN and not the IP address if theyre set up in LAN.

If I were you, I would archive off your recordings so the backup/restore is quicker.

Otherwise, take a full backup, power off old VM and restore to new VM.

I would turn off admin console IP restrictions before you take your backup

With this in mind why not also choose a Debian machine instead? Not only you'll be avoiding the hefty cost that comes with Windows you'll also need less resources for the same 3CX config: https://www.3cx.com/docs/recommended-hardware-specifications-for-3cx/

In addition, you'll have the option to use one of our cloud deployment methods which makes deploying the instance a piece of cake:

• Use Hosting provider's market place
• Use the Customer Portal deployment wizard (formerly known as the PBX Express)

I also have to mention that Windows hosts have not been tested by 3CX for cloud deployments which is another reason we recommend a Debian machine instead. Since you already had a Debian machine to begin with, I don't think this should be a problem for you in regards to management either.

There shouldn't be any problem deploying the server using the Market Place 3CX instance right?

No that should be just fine, you could either use the Market place or the Customer Portal deployment wizard. Both of these options WILL deploy a Debian machine though so keep that in mind.
