Hi

I have got Mitel 6930 & 6940 handsets, which I would like to configure as the plain 3CX extensions on the 3CX. I don't think so that there is any official template for these phones.

After doing some research I have found that first thing to do is to re-flash the phones with a SIP firmware, which I have already acquired. I'm currently waiting for one of each of these phones to be delivered to my office so I can do some tests.

Has anyone ever managed to configure those phones with the 3CX ? I would like to get as much information as possible before I receive the phones, so I can be prepared well ahead before I start doing some testing.

Any suggestions much appreciated

Thank you all for your ideas. I will give it a go once I have got the phones delivered, and I will reply on this topic if I manage to get it working.

There have been a few people that have posted about attempting to use the Mitel sets, you might want to do a search on the forum. You will obviously have to manually configure them, and some features may be limited..

This might be of some help....

I have followed the steps listed in the tutorial provided by @leejor and I have managed to register an extension on the Mitel6940, however only partially if I can call it like this.

I can call from the Mitel phone to any other extension, but I can't call the Mitel phone at all. The phone says No Service, and its extensions is shown as unregistered on the 3CX.

I have read thoroughly the thread on the forum provided, and the user CornHead764 said:

"Mitel restricts SIP registration to their own products, however if you have a means of spoofing the user agent field on your PBX or SBC, you can trick the phones into registering happily. I am using an Anynode SBC, and was able to spoof all SIP messages to use "Mitel-3300-ICP" as the user agent, and this instantly resolved the auto unregistration problem"

I have found a parameter on the 3CX called "USERAGENTSTRING" and I set its value to Mitel-3300-ICP, but it doesn't resolve my problem.

Thank you for all your ideas, and please let me know if you have any further suggestions.

I have finally managed to resolve the problem, what I was missing it was to restart the PBX upon amending the USERAGENTSTRING value. Sounds like something very simple, but it is easy to forget.

My problem has now been fully resolved and I have got working the Mitel6940 with the 3CX. I haven't tried to do the Mitel6930 yet, but I will do it shortly and I'm pretty confident that it will work the same way.

Just to summarise what is required to provision these phones with the 3CX.

1. Re-flash the phone with the SIP firmware
2. Provision it as per THIS guide
3. Amend the USERAGENTSTRING value and set it to Mitel-3300-ICP
4. Restart the PBX
