In an effort to maintain availability, I can have 2 SBC on site, I can have 2 PBX with failover but what if the trunk provider goes down?
is it possible to port the same DID to more than one trunk provider?

You could probably do that with a phone number (if PBX is no longer registered, forward call to new number.), or several, but not as easily done with DIDs, as the new route must also pass on the DID information, not just caller ID.. This would be up to the provider(s). There may be providers that can offer a second trunk (different registration), then forward the DID to that when the first fails.
It is more likely that there will be an ISP, or network failure, between you and the provider, rather than a provider failure, and that any, and all trunks would cease to work.

If the primary trunk provider can't reach your 3CX server, have them forward calls to a DID at the secondary trunk provider. If the secondary provider can't reach the 3CX server, have them forward calls to a mobile number.

Thank you for the quick responses.
I guess, I need to rely on the trunk provider to forward calls to a different number if their services are down. I was hoping to bypass the provider and manage my own call forwarding but I understand if the main number is registered at the trunk provider, they need to manage.

It depends if your sip provider gives you acess to a management console for your trunks, you may have automatic failure forwarding already preset and if link to PBX fails then automaticly calls are forwarded where you want (other trunk, mobile, land line)

Of course if your sip provider gives you no mngt console then you have no choice and you need to search for a better provider.
