Hello,

I am trying to move from our 4 SC to our 32 SC and self host.
I created the backup(without FQDN info) and stopped the instance, released the FQDN.
I have the new instance created and ready to upload the back.

To install from backup it needed the backup to have the FQDN info, so i chose to launch the instance fresh and i will upload the backup after.
Now that i have the instance up and running how to I upload this backup zip. I have tried FTP but it does not see the backup folder sitting in the FTP.

I need to get this up and running today if someone has some input.

Thanks
Brett

So i figured out how to SFTP to the hosted backend and up load there.

You could have restored during the setup you know? It would've asked you the new license since the backup wouldn't contain one.

I tried and it errored out and said i dont have a FQDN so it failed.

That's not normal. A backup without fqdn/license can be restored during the setup wizard. I just did it yesterday when moving a 3CX.

What version are you using? And how big is the backup file?

I guess it must have been to large or maybe the issue i was using the new portal.

@BrettBoggeman setup the new PBX you want at your self host platform blank, only with 1 extension and the FQDN you want. .
Then since this is self hosted, you can have physical access to this PBX with SSH or an FTP client.
Upload the backup directly to this machine and then restore it.
No need to struggle and use remote FTP, SFTP servers to pull it from there.

Yes Deployment Wizard needs backup with an FQDN but since you don't have it now, go with the simple way.
New Portal can accept backups up to 1Gig.
Upload it from your PC to the self hosted machine (via your FTP client with FileZilla or WinSCP ), point the Backup path of the PBX to this file and restore it from there. You can upload it to /var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Backups, and then just click Restore.
