Hello 3CX Community!

I've come across something I'm going to call a quirk

We are using X210-V2 phones with two extensions registered on them. The main EXT is auto provisioned for the person using the phone. The second ext is used for a shared mailbox (Best solution when migrating from Mitel). So we have two X210-V2's, (ext 100 and 102 for example) and then a shared mailbox (ext 201 for example). If User A puts their phone on DND, it puts both EXT's on DND and then User B's ext ends up on DND.
- Latest version of 3CX
- Latest firmware from 3CX (2.12.16.20)
- Behind an SBC setup on an AWOW mini PC running debian.

I have tried to reproduce this issue in our office using the same phones, same programming. I cannot reproduce the issue.

I have another customer that we're doing the same thing for, but they have 4 registrations per phone.
- Users with OG X210 handsets are fine. No problems between them
- Users with X210-V2 models also have this weird shared DND situation.

Has anyone seen anything like this before or having similar issues? Yes I understand this "isn't supported" however it's the best method we've found for group mailboxes for customers who do not want to use VM to Email.

Please be advised using multiple extensions on a single device is not recommended and also no advice or support can be provided.

Hello Charls

I understand this, however I'm sure others setup like this as 3CX hasn't provided a way to do this. Some customers REALLY want to get off their NEC/Mitel systems and like a lot of the features 3CX brings to the table. However there are features they rely on like shared mailboxes which we have to get creative to achieve.

I've Narrowed it down to something in the customer network/firewall. I just now have to determine what's causing it to happen.

Side note, the SBC also isn't able to see any phones plugged into the network so there's a level of security on the network that needs to be investigated.

I have an update for anyone having this issue.

For the secondary registration extensions, DO NOT populate the "CSTA Number" or the "uaCSTA Number" (Depending on phone make and model) field under the advanced setup for the extension. This is how the phone sends and receives the DND status. With it blank the EXT will go on DND on the phone itself but on at the server level and thus it will not sync down to other phones with the same secondary registration.
