Hi All. Is there a way to activate the Phone Book in a Multi Tenant instance?
For background, my customer is a Franchise Group, and they all utilise they same phone directory and numbers. They're all being set up as their own site, but the phone book is not showing on their Yealink devices, it does show on the app though.
I guess I could flick multi tenant off, and utilise departments instead, but some of the franchises are themselves multi site and I wanted to try and keep thisg separated, as they are all responsible for their own phone bills.

The departmental phonebook is not available yet. It is in the pipeline and will be coming in an upcoming update. There is no ETA for this though currently.

Hi Nicholas,
Hope you are well. I understand as per above no departmental phonebook is currently available. But why is it that all of the users on my multi using Yealink handsets have no 3CX phonebook? In the handset backend I can see the Remote URL is correct but nothing flowing through to the handset?

As per above, Multitenant has no phonebook at the moment.

When the department phonebook becomes available it will then be visible. The company phonebook would essentially allow all clients to see the phonebook which makes no sense since they have no correlation between them, nor do they have common data

except the admin :(
I wouldn't want to leave my personal contact details there.

As has been mentioned before over 43897538947 times, this is in the pipeline, but the reports were a bigger priority.

As that is now in beta, watch this space.

Nicholas, you're inferring that company phonebook for multi-tenant is likely in the foreseeable future which is brilliant news - thank you! What's the best way of us being made aware company phone book for multi-tenant is available? We have a customer who is screaming for it. Many thanks in advance!

Check the blog often.

Is there already an updated about when we can expect thiss. We have customers with a great desire to have this remote Phonebook! Is there an other way to have something similar? For example a other remote Phonebook location URL ?

Hello 3CX Team and fellow community members,

We would also like to gently add our voice to this discussion, as we are supporting clients in the exact same situation.

We utilize the v20 "Departments" feature to create a multi-tenant environment, where each department serves as a separate company. This structure works very well for isolation.

However, we've encountered the same challenge mentioned here: our tenants who rely on physical IP phones find that their local phonebooks are empty after provisioning, even though their Web Client and Mobile Apps show the correct departmental contacts.

We fully appreciate the privacy-first design of v20 and understand why the global (root) phonebook must be blocked from tenants.

The key functionality our clients are hoping for is the ability for IP phones to provision their own department's phonebook. This seems to be the missing piece for a complete desk phone experience in a multi-tenant setup.

We are very hopeful that the 3CX team can look into supporting this feature in a future update. It would be a wonderful enhancement for the v20 platform and would be greatly appreciated by us and our tenants.

Thank you for your hard work and for listening to the community's feedback.
