I know that multiple extensions are not supported by 3CX, but they were some releases ago. And it was a nice feature as it allowed PBX to present a selection of logical PBX extension such as "sales", "support", "finance" to caller, and then (if some of these at some time are handled by the same person) having one phone to receive calls to some of these extensions.

Or is there some other way to achieve this functionality today ?

My Snom-765 can be configured for at least 4 different extensions, and it is said that it may be possible by some manual config. But haven't figured out how.

As you mentioned multiple extensions are not supported for the ip phone provisioning.
What if for example you have one extension added to multiple Queue and able to receive calls from different destinations?

Will I then see which extension (assigned to certain company function) the caller called?

I may have come up with a way as workaround: Manually add a phone to the extension. This will create a default phone type, but give you login credentials for phone to register with PBX. Then manually configure registreation credentials in phone.
A bit awkward, but it seem to work.

Manual adding another extension to the phone might be allowed but still not something that it is supported.
In my suggestion though you can create Queues with different names and you will be able to see from which queue the call is soming.
