I'm pretty sure it would not be supported "out of the box" but is there a way to have a phone register into more than one PABX ? Most phones (say a an exemple Yealink T4 serie) support multiple SIP account. Would there be a way to have them "talk" with more than one PABX ?

I had my T48S doing this. I have a locally hosted V16U5 install that is my local phone system, and a 16V5 hosted by a cloud provider that is our sister organizations system. I logged into the interface of my phone by web browser and configured account 2.

Whichever account receives a call will ring the phone and answering is accomplished the same at it always is, but to call from account 2 you need to use the 4-way button to switch to the second account (if I want to call an extension on account 2's 3cx instance, I have to select it by pressing the right arrow).

Its pretty simple as long as you get your info from the extension provisioning page and have the ports configured right.

oh, it cant be configured while you're in a call. That was a stupid half hour I wasted.

Thanks - will give it a try.

How does it handle concurrent calls ?

it treats it like you have a second call on another line for a singel account. It rings and gives you the option to put the call on hold to answer the new call

Some phones are only capable of accepting one server address (or one, and a backup), as they are designed to be used with only one PBX at a time. If you plan on having some line keys connect with a second PBX, confirm that each account (extension) can register with a different server.

I was able to do so with both the T46s and the T48s earlier this year.

I do the same thing, with some manually provisioned, Cisco SPA525G sets, that have lines to multiple 3CX PBXs.

Obviously the T46 and T48 models will also allow this. Unfortunately, many sets allow only one server address for all extensions.
