Music on Hold too loud

I have been struggling with the volume levels of any files that I have uploaded to the server. They are all too loud and our callers are complaining. I have tried several audio converter programs (Max OSX) and none of them have solved the problem. Where can I download AMPMPG123 that is referenced in the MOH upload section so the volume adjustment feature works?

The best software to edit voice files is Wavepad from switch audio file converter (http://www.nch.com.au/switch/index.html). I have successfully used it to adjust volume and add effects in voice files. Also you did not mentioned which version you are using. Be happy that Elastix 1.4 which is coming soon has the option to reduce the volume of the Music On Hold under MOH GUI.

I am using (elastix-2.0.0-57 • asterisk-1.6.2.13-0 • freePBX-2.7.0-9).

I have tried using the volume adjustment when importing the MP3 files but it did not seem to have any impact on the volume.
