I have a StartUp Free ( 10 users )
I've been using it since April 2023.

This past week, perhaps after a number of botched attempts to sign in to the
Owner's extension to access the Admin area, I received the message
"an ip has been blacklisted". I contacted [email protected] and they
told me just to wait 24 hours, and try again.

I waited more than a day, and retried. OK. I got in, but the next time I tried,
same message...

Please help?

Thanks, Iowa Flyover ( Phil )

Sorry, meant to say I have NOT been able to login ever since..

Do you have any untested generic IP phones connected to your extensions?

@iowa Can you still edit your message to remove your license key?

Even if there is something at your location triggering the block, you should be able to log in from a different IP address.

@SteveITS Can you or someone edit the license out of the message? I don't know how to edit a message
that's already posted.

re: " log in from a different IP address." - I have no choice in this matter: I am inside a university network,
and traffic all goes out through one of 2 public IPs -( we have 2 providers - load balanced )

@Charles_3CX I have several IP phones. They are registered through the 3cx SBC ( v18) running on another computer on the
same network, and have been working flawlessly since they were installed ( 1-2 months ago ).

Untested? Not sure what you mean - they work..Generic..they are both Yealink. I manually provisioned them both.

I can’t, maybe someone from 3CX can. There’s a short time after posting where a message has an edit button.

Can you log in from home? Free/Small Business doesn’t have an allow/block list so I’m afraid you’ll have to figure out what device is failing logins. Could be an app, a phone, a web browser, etc.

@SteveITS,

The moderator finally deleted the license..
re: what device is failing logins...I login in only from the webclient for the owner.
What other device could fail that miht influence that?

I will find a friend who lives off-campus today, and try the login on their computer.

BTW, since Free/SMB has no access to an allow/block list, do the other editions?
I am thinking of buying either a Pro or Ent edition for a year to evaluate it.
I liked the old Management console..it had so many monitors/features etc.
There seems to be no other way to evaluate the new admin interface but to buy
a version that has it !

Well like I said, could be an app, a phone, a web browser, etc. You’re logging in to your FQDN/webclient URL correct?

Yes Pro/Ent have customizable restrictions. Free/SMB is basically the newer group centric features on a shared server type of setup.

There are two month trial licenses. If you don’t have a partner, DM me your email address.

On a whim, I tried to sign into the owner's webclient early this morning.
It worked. I was pretty surprised. I did not change a thing on my end..same
phones, same app ( on mobile), same web browser...schizoid..

Makes it difficult to pin down which ( if any ) device caused the problem, though..

Just to be safe, I deleted every extension that had a phone with it, and a few others too.

@SteveITS: I don't know how to "DM" my email address...please advise.

I do not have a partner. I have corresponded with one in Monticello, Iowa, but
there is no business relationship.

A question: These systems start at 10 users and 4 simultaneous calls.
Which one is fixed? i.e. is 4sc just 3cx's estimate of what is needed to support
10 users? e.g. If I were to add 2 more users to a 4sc system( making 12 total users ), and they stayed below
4 sc, would that work?

I just logged in to the owner's extension again. Again it worked.

But now a new challenge: I wanted to edit one of the options in the digital receptionist.
It wouldn't let me: I could change the option, buit when I went to save the changes,
as I hovered over the "Save" button, the hint appeared: "feature unavaiable in current edition".

? I created the receptionist initially, and saved it. Does it then become
fixed in stone?

This is not a restriction I expected, even in the Free edition.

Please clarify..

Thanks

Phil ( Iowa )

Deleting the extensions in 3CX may not help because the issue is typically failed logins. Unless any phones are disconnected or factory reset, they would still keep trying to connect.

re: 4 SC, to my knowledge there are no call count restrictions on Free/Small Business, only user count. It would be limited by the SIP trunk account. The user count is fixed, so the only option to go to 12 users is to upgrade to Small Business. The dedicated servers use SC and you can have 100 extensions and 4 calls, or for a call center perhaps 10 extensions and 100 calls. Note there is no upgrade/downgrade path to move from the SMB plans to or from a dedicated server.

re: IVR, Free and Small Business have a lot of restrictions compared to dedicated servers. I'll be honest, we haven't set one up yet for that reason. Per https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/auto-attendant-on-free-version-3cx-and-smb.121951/ it looks like the IVR on Free is to play a recording and forward the call.

re: Direct Message, if you click on the forum account name there is a Start Conversation button. I will DM you.

Folks, this situation is getting weirder and weirder...

1. According to the features in the free edition, there is an auto-attendant.
I cannot find one in my admin console.

2. During my last session in the admin console, there was an icon in the left column called "calls".
It had an indication that there was content...so I clicked it...
immediately I got a message " an IP has been blacklisted". and I was kicked out of the
application, and back to the login prompt. I tried to log in again, and again " an IP has been blacklsted"

Back to square one.

What did I do wrong?

@SteveITS BTW, I had not only deleted users, but disconnected the phones as well.
And, I emailed Skyetel ( my SIP provider) and there are no restrictions on the SIP trunk - only
what is restricted by 3cx.

Phil (Iowa)

There is still some client on your network who has wrong credentials.

1. According to the features in the free edition, there is an auto-attendant.

The auto-attendant in free edition are the prompts you can play through the "Office Hours" tab based on call routing.
The full auto-attendant is the "Multi-level IVR" feature which is not available in the Free edition.

You were probably blacklisted before hitting the "Calls" menu. You just got the message then because the page was refreshed.
Disconnect all IP phones that are trying to register to your account and see if the issue persists.
I have no choice in this matter: I am inside a university network,
and traffic all goes out through one of 2 public IPs -( we have 2 providers - load balanced )
If could be that someone else on the same network is getting you blacklisted either because they are on the same 3CX host or because they are doing something shady like port scanning.
