I'm hoping to get some assistance with setting up the on-hold music and message playback in the 3CX Call Flow Designer when there are no available agents after the caller has selected the options.

The specific requirements I'm trying to implement are:
  • Play on hold music when no agents are available
  • If a caller has been waiting for 30 seconds and still no agents available, play the audio file onholdmsg1.wav.
  • If the caller is still waiting after an additional 60 seconds (a total of 90 seconds), play the audio file onholdmsg2.wav.
  • Continue to loop between these two messages, playing onholdmsg1.wav every 30 seconds and onholdmsg2.wav every 60 seconds, until an agent becomes available.
  • As soon as an agent is available, transfer the call to the agent.
I've tried to set this up in the 3CX Call Flow Designer, but I'm struggling to get the timing and looping logic correct. I'm not sure if I'm missing a specific component or if I need to combine multiple components in a certain way.

Any guidance or sample configurations you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I want to ensure that my callers have a smooth on-hold experience while waiting for the next available agent.

Thanks for helping this noob.

Just use queues for god sake...

Doing this with a CFD app is not a good idea in my opinion. I understand that the queue might not have all the options you need, like playing 2 different prompts at different time intervals, but with a CFD app you will face many challenges, including:
- You have no communication between 2 instances (i.e. 2 calls being handled by the same CFD App). So it's hard to keep an list of ordered callers in a single place....
- The CFD app blocks when it's playing a prompt. So if your prompt lasts 30 seconds, you will keep you customer waiting for that time, even if an agent gets free in the middle. Only when the prompt ends you will check for agent availability and transfer the call.

And that's just the beginning. You will face many challenges. You shouldn't go this way.
