Hello everyone -

After months of trying, I finally attempted to upgrade my 3CX from v18 Windows 10 running on VM to the v18 Debian. on a new VM.

I took a good backup of everything from my Windows 10 v18 installation and setup a new VM to install Debian. Once Debian installation was complete, I was able to upload the backup I took from my Windows 10 v18 and follow the steps. After the system was restored. I got the Upgrade to v20 option under Updates. I made a mistake of not making a snapshot at that point. I proceeded with the update.

The update completed successfully. Now my problems begin, I couldn't login as root anymore. Doing some research on the forums, I learned that I need to use an account that's set as System Owner. I had one setup, but for the life of me, the password didn't work and I got blacklisted.

I was like, lets delete this VM and start over. I still had my old Windows 10 v18 VM safe. I started that instance and logged in and made sure to reset my password for the System Owner account. I then took a fresh backup and tried to redo the Debian Installation. When I tried to upload the updated backup, I got a message that

Product cannot be activated because the license key is of a previous version. Upgrade license key or purchase maintenance from https://customer.3cx.com

I don't know what to do. It sounds like my license key won't work because it's now linked to v20 as oppose to v18. Can you please please help? I will really appreciate your assistance and guidance.

I apologize for posting this again. I posted yesterday, but I am not able to remove or edit the original post. Therefore I decided to post this as a new post.
