In a recent release (Update 5 Beta, Build 20.0.5.506, January 2025), 3CX changed Hide from Contacts to Hide User. The change was described in the change log as "Fixed the issue of hiding users across the app. Admins can now hide users globally, keeping the interface cleaner for specific use cases."
The problem created by the January change is that Hide User must NOT be checked/enabled if users are to appear in the Team section, but this causes the Contacts section to display ALL USERS across the system, not just those in the same Department. If Hide User is checked/enabled, then the user is not displayed in either Team or Contacts.
We need to display users of a given Department (Team) only to other users in that department/team, and, to NOT have all system users displayed in Contacts. This is not a multi-tenant issue, it's in an organization where all system users should not be displayed to everyone. We're primarily using the iOS app, where Team displays members of a Department, and Contacts displays everyone.
It seems there needs to be separate options for Hide from Team and Hide from Contacts, rather than the singular Hide User that affects both.
I believe I've tested all combinations of settings, and I've double-checked the settings of Users > View > Presence (checked/enabled) and Departments > Options > Publish department information to all extensions (unchecked/disabled). Also, none of the users are in the Default Department. We're on V20 U5 Build 551.
3CX Team: Can we get the visibility/hide setting separated into two checkboxes, so a user's appearance in Team and Contacts is not tied together? Maybe something for U6? Thank you.
