Hi there,

We have an instance running on AWS v18.0.9.35 and tried to migrate to another VPS service last night. Unfortunately, the version downloading is an earlier build from https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/3CXPhoneSystem18.exe - which downloads a prior version and therefore my install from backup does not work. I then tried from portal.3cx.com to download a "on-premise" version but it installed v20 on the new instance (now nothing works) which is causing too many issues for me to handle right away. Therefore I would like to find out how to download the build my backup matches and install that. Phones are trying to reach previous install. I tried to reprovision a couple extensions for v20 but too many issues (after 8+ hours) to handle today.

FYI - I did try to update the previous instance to v20 beforehand but would not allow me to do that - thinking that transition might be smoother.

Please advise - Thank you in advance!

P.S. I understand v20 is here and I will update that next but for now I need to get the system running.

Id suggest staying on your current VPS if youre not ready to move to v20.

it'll be very unlikely to find an installation of v18 now - it's no longer available in the download centre.

what issues were you having?

Install v18 using EXE. Use license and FQDN but not the backup (clean install.) Then, update the system to the latest v18 and then upload and restore your original backup.

There is no download for 3CX v18.0.9.35, we searched for it aswell. The last 3CX v18 download is only 18.0.9.31. This is because the last push to .35 was a patch.

I know that. I just told you how to bring it to that patch version.

@IMI AFAIK “new” installs of v18 (.31) can’t activate now so you may not be able to install the old version and update.

If you’ve installed v20 with your existing key that will move the key to v20 and it won’t work on v18.

If you’re having trouble with Windows I’d consider a Linux install…it also avoids the Enterprise license requirement.

Thanks for the different options for advice - I pondered them and some others. I did not want to rebuild the system (not from scratch). The issue was not Windows for v20 it was just v20. I canceled my trip and I tackled them. Basically a lot of v20 new requirement issues (3CX has taken control away for admin strategies, under the premise of good practices), and then having to reprovision each extension/device afterwards since on a new instance and version - wasn't fun.

10 hours later is was done.

Again thanks for trying help - it is appreciated.
