Hello all, I have some phones that all of a sudden decided to stop transmitting audio. If I dial an internal extension from a yealink 42s to another, it rings and they pick up, but no sound. Also have yealink 48s that are doing the same thing. When I look at the logs from the phone and from wireshark, the communicating is going back and forth, but the phone is refusing the ports sent by the 3cx server. Thank you.

I read a post similar and the user said they solved by themselves, it was a backend 3cx setting, but didn't provide the solution.

Hi,
maybe the problem is solved by check PBX Delives Audio parameter (Extension-> Options).

Thanks Claudio, that did solve it, I overlooked the setting. Thank you!

If the phones are provisioned as Local, then that should not have been necessary normally.

Especially if they worked before and then stopped, and this might indicate that something on your network changed and phones cannot reach each other so they need the PBX to delivery audio for them.

Yes, they were all provisioned as local, but we have two vlans. Computers on vlan1 and phones on vlan2. Server is on vlan1. The vlans can communicate with one another so I assume that part is fine. Should they be treated in another way since on another vlan? I'm not using the VLAN configuration under each user either, should I be?

This could unfold the mystery. Did something change in the network? The No1 reason why Local LAN phones don't have audio is usually related to VLANs.

This is further supported in your case that it is solved wih "PBX Delivers Audio" being enabled.
