Hi,
I did several installations of snom M900 even with multicell.
My latest installation is not working. The setup is on a Raspberry brand new installation with latest iso and following the 3cx manual instructions.
Also i did a full reset of the M900 and upgraded to 530 B2. After i did follow the instrucitions of 3cx like always. Only now it is not uploading the config provision file.

What i already did:
- update the 3cx now on 18.0 update 2 build 314 (latest)
- downgrade the M900 to lower version as a test
- full new install of the Raspberry and 3cx
- use other switch

If i download the provision link on my pc i do get a error after a while
If i check the logs on 3cx i can not retrieve a download attemt in the logs
if i check the logs in the M900 i get following:

Any ideas ?

Yes, try to:

1. Delete your M900 from 3CX and recreate it.
2. Do not change any of the settings/password etc, and do not assign any extensions on it yet.
3. Ensure that a PC on the same LAN as the M900 can download the file when you click provisioning link.
4. Factory reset the M900, and now try again again.

@JohnS_3CX thanks for the fast reaction.
Just tried it. Same result. M900 is not downloading the config via the provisionlink.

For your info. other snom IP phones are downloading there configs normally. It is just the M900 that gets into problems

Any other ideas

Hi,

Open a browser on a PC on the same network as the M900 and go to this link: http://192.168.1.200:5000/provisioning/qifvzx3idg9d3w/cfg000413B631B8
(Hopefully this is not the actual mac of the phone and the actual random folder of the PBX. For safety purposes things like these should not be publicly shared)
Check if your browser can download the file. If it can open it to see its populated with the right info.

If everything looks OK then the PBX can serve the file when requested and you consider the possibility that this is a phone problem. Wireshark can also help you see if the file was requested correctly and served by the PBX.

Thanks for the reaction. I get a time out when downloading the file via a browser on the pc. It looks that it Could be a access problem. The problem is only on the M900. The other desk phones are provisioning well so No problem there.

Are all your phones in the same LAN as well as the PC? Navigate to your extension settings / Phone Provisioning and check the provisioning link from there.
It should be something like this http://192.168.1.200:5000/provisioning/qifvzx3idg9d3w/cfg{mac}
Replace the {mac} with the actual mac address of the phone and try again. Perhaps there is a typo somewhere.

On the IP phones no problem. I recieve the cfg file and it is readable.
If i do exactly the same for the M900 i have a time out 504 Gateway Time-out nginx
- this with the direct provision link from the 3cx dect config as also manual generated by copying the mac from the M900 interface to populate the full link. This latest as a double check for typo.

Ok since this is an unusual situation, let's look a bit further into the details as this could help us pinpoint what may be causing this.

- What model of Pi are you using?
- Did you download the exact image we provide in this page here or did you use your own?
- Were there any modifications done to 3CX, or the templates, or the nginx config of this machine?
- Did you install any additional software on the Pi or simply followed our guide?
- Did you access the Pi with any FTP/SFTP clients and copy files while using root?
- Did you make any other manual changes you might want to mention just in case?

Problem solved thanks to the Tech support of 3cx.

I did not read the minimum requerements on the raspberry. It has to be version 4. I had a version 2. This generated a high load on the moment the M900 config request was generated. It took the Pi2 to long to create the file and going into a time out. Result: M900 did not recieve a cfg file and dit not configure.

I go to buy a Pi4 and do it over again.
