no ring tone for callers

I have set up the Digital Receptionist and it routes fine however when my callers press their selection they hear a womans voice tell them to please hold while i transfer your call. that part is fine what bothers me and them is that there is no ring tone or music on hold while there call is being routed. many callers simply hang up because after 10 sec they think they got hung up on. Help! I am using polycom 501 handsets and a voip gateway (callcentric) I can be reached by phone as well and welcome your call 406-457-5618 press 103 to get me you will see what i mean......

yes the message plays fine also the call routes fine its just that the caller does not hear the phone ringing and many times they hang up.
the other is if i place an outside caller on hold they do not hear the music on hold. but it works fine between phones in local network.
