Hi there,

we are experiencing the following issue: The meeting acceptance / deny replys are not sent back to the extension that created the meeting. Our PBX is configured to use the 3CX SMTP Server. So sender is "[email protected]" and this is were these replys want to go:

"Final-Recipient: rfc822; [email protected]
Action: failed
Status: 4.0.0
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; DNS Error: 12034176 DNS type 'mx' lookup of 3cx.cloud responded with code NOERROR
12034176 DNS type 'mx' lookup of 3cx.cloud had no relevant answers.
12034176 DNS type 'aaaa' lookup of 3cx.cloud responded with code NOERROR
12034176 DNS type 'aaaa' lookup of 3cx.cloud had no relevant answers.
12034176 DNS type 'a' lookup of 3cx.cloud responded with code NOERROR
12034176 DNS type 'a' lookup of 3cx.cloud had no relevant answers.
Last-Attempt-Date: Tue, 28 Apr 2020 02:33:16 -0700 (PDT)"

So they end up in the nowhere. But if I try to reply to the invitation mail itself (not the appointment in calendar), the reply actually goes to mail address of the extension.

How can we fix this? Is this even possible with 3CX mailserver or do we need to use our own to get the acceptance / deny replys?

Thanks in advance!

If you use the fallback option to invite users (Direct via 3CX), RSVP feature cannot work as we cannot send emails in your name (or from your email address). I strongly advise that you use your calendar to invite users if you need RSVP feature.

Hi,

The invites you see in the email which allow you to respond are based on email infrastructure (unrelated to your PBX).

When an invite is replied to in a email, what happens is your mail client actually tries to mail back the sender (a no reply address) so it is expected to get a reply that the message failed

You can however use the other calendar options to send the invite from your own actual email box, so when they click the reply, you will receive it.

Ok, so switching to our mail server would allow us to get the acceptance / deny replys to the one of our mailbox, which calandar should be shareable to the other users. Is that right?

This seems to be the easiest way as changing calendar options would force us to use the webclient... (we only use 3CX windows app)

Not quite, the reply would go back to the account you use for sending, not the meeting creator.

Using your own Calendar however, means that you are the sender, and you are also the recipient of the reply, so your mail client will update the list of participants that accepted/declined accordingly.

But I can share the calendar of the sender account to all my users, so they can see who accepted or declined. Thank you very much for your incredibly fast help! This thread can be closed ;)

Yep that should be fine!
