Sorry if this has been raised elsewhere:
What is the maximum number of SIP Channels allowed on
  • 3CX Free
  • 3CX SMB 10 User
  • 3CX SMB 20 User
Thanks

Hi there, can you please clarify what you mean by SIP channels?

Are you referring to simultaneous calls?

Yes that's correct thanks Charles - how many simultaneous calls - but specifically external calls - not extension to extension calls.

External calls will depend on how many your VoIP provider will allow, internally there is no limit with SMB or 3CX free.

Hi Charles, are you saying that for SMB or 3CX free internal calls no longer part of the SC count?

For other 3CX do internal calls still count against the SC count?

What Charles is saying is that SMB (formerly known as StartUP) is not billed using the same logic as the well-known model of purchasing annually renewable licenses.

In concrete terms, with SMB, you're not paying for a license; you're paying for a SaaS that excludes the SIP Trunk Provider.

You pay based on the number of extensions, with unlimited usage. Both internal and external calls have no limits! Of course, for external calls, your SIP Trunk provider may impose a limit.

This « model » does not apply to Pro and Enterprise licenses.

In contrast, Mr. Galea announced a few weeks ago that it might be possible to self-host an "SMB" version (similar in principle to the never officially released and non-recommended "MultiCompanyMode").

Perhaps new types of licenses will be introduced? We'll likely know more at the official launch of V20! In any case, from my perspective, V20 will elevate Unified Communication to a whole new level, making 3CX even more unique than it already is!
